Last week I spent Friday and Saturday touring around the medievil city of Burges. It’s a really interesting city that I could spend days exploring. The belfry tower was quite a hike up over 300 steps to the top but was worth it for the view of the city.

Some of the buildings the fronts look almost like toy houses.

At night the belfry tower is lit up.

Travel around the city was quite easy as everything was within a 20 min walk. Walking around though the city we had to be careful as there were bikes everywhere. All over there were bike racks like this.

I found an amazing cafe that I ate at a few times. Hidden off one of the main roads on a quiet street.

After dinner on friday night Georgina spotted nine swans in the canal.

I really enjoyed exploring Bruges. It has a very relaxed pace to the city and would highly recommend a visit here. I did find a couple nice chocolate shops that I brought back some chocolate from.

All of the Brugge Photos.

Your trip sounds so good, we are enjoying following your travels. The day you went to Flander interested me for my Uncle Howared, my Dad’s brother was killed in action in WW I. He was buried in Vimy France, a Memorial for 11,000 + Canadians who perished in Norhtern France. I know he was not buried in Belgium, but I feel both are similar types of memorials
By the way we found Tims Tams in Safeways in Regina and bought some before we went on holidays this year. They are good! Rosemarie & John
